The SAE is an opportunity for agriculture students to explore and experience whatever part of agriculture they enjoy. Each SAE is tailored to the individual student.
Livestock
You do not have to have your own livestock to have an SAE that involves it. You may have a family member, friend or neighbor that can give you diverse experiences.
Flower Gardens
Many students decide to create a flower garden or renovate an existing one. The only limitation to the creativity is the students' own imaginations.
Equine Management
Love horses? Your horse can be your SAE project. Love them but don't have one? Some horse owners are looking for a reliable responsible person to help them with their horses.

Vegetable ProductionMany families have a small vegetable garden. Some students raised herbs and vegetables in containers. You can work in the school Food Bank garden during out of school hours; check with Ms. Thurston first!
Forage and Firewood
Some students have to cut, load and stack firewood for themselves, families or to sell. Others produce, harvest and stack hay. Why not get SAE credit for it?
Landscape
So you have to mow the grass, rake the leaves, trim the hedges and edge the sidewalk. This is called landscaping and can be part of your SAE project!

Mechanics
Like to work on your car, motorcycle or ATV? Many of these skills can be transferred to agriculture. If you rebuild the carburetor on your lawn mower, chance are you can on a tractor.
Humane Society
The Randolph County Humane Society is always in need of help; from walking dogs to cleaning kennels. Some students are trained to worm puppies and give shots to animals.
